AI CAD

Turn text, a photo, or a sketch into CAD.

Describe your part or upload a reference photo or sketch. Luphra builds a 3D CAD design you can inspect and refine in chat, then download or quote for an eligible physical print.

Printing: PLA or PETG. Every side must be under 220 mm (22 cm). Confirm width, depth, and height in millimetres before ordering.

How Luphra's AI CAD differs

Luphra develops a custom part through conversation: provide dimensions, inspect the solid geometry, and request changes before downloading or ordering. A mesh describes a surface with triangles; a STEP file carries solid geometry for continued CAD work. Luphra offers STL, STEP, and a native FreeCAD file when a feature tree was generated. Review the files and checks attached to your particular design.

Start with text, a photo, or a sketch

Describe what the part does and attach reference images directly in the conversation. Add measurements for overall size, connections, and openings. Photos guide the shape; your measurements establish scale. For an early concept, tell the agent which dimensions it can assume.

Review and refine in chat

Inspect the model from different angles and request changes to its shape or dimensions. A generated design needs review. Check mating surfaces, hole positions, and clearances against the object it will connect to.

Choose the file you need

Each model lists its available exports: STL for 3D printing, STEP for solid geometry in compatible CAD software, and a native FreeCAD file when a feature tree was generated. You can download files without buying a physical print.

Review measured geometry checks

Luphra checks for a valid, closed single solid, positive volume, open shells, self-intersections, and overall dimensions against the design specification. Wall thickness and manufacturing suitability are flagged for review. Check the findings, material, and size before requesting a print quote. Test a prototype to confirm physical fit and performance.

An example starting prompt

Create an open tray for a workbench, 120 mm wide, 80 mm deep, and 25 mm high. Use 3 mm walls and rounded corners. Leave the top open.

Adapt these details to your part. This is an example request, not a verified manufacturing result.

Questions before you start

What does editable CAD mean in Luphra?
Request changes to the shape or dimensions in chat. Use a STEP export to continue working with the solid geometry in compatible CAD software. Designs with a generated native feature tree also offer a FreeCAD download. Each model shows the files available for that design.
Do I need to buy a print?
No. You can download the available design files without ordering manufacturing. Design subscriptions and physical print orders are billed separately.
Can I use the design for an exact mechanical fit?
Provide measured dimensions and review the geometry, clearances, and material requirements. Generation alone does not guarantee a fit or validate a safety-critical part.
