Replacement parts

Develop a replacement for the part you cannot find.

Create a replacement part on demand, even when you cannot find it in a spare-parts catalog. Start with a photo, a sketch, or a description. Luphra helps you build the CAD design in chat, review its dimensions, and download the files or have an eligible plastic print made and delivered. No CAD skills required.

First design: usually a few minutes for a simple part. Production and shipping: separate stages, with timing dependent on the accepted order and destination.

  1. 1. Share a photo and measurements

Photograph the broken part or a matching one, or upload a sketch. Explain what it connects to and where it broke. Measure the shaft diameter, hole spacing, or slot width that controls the fit, and describe any heat, bending, or loads it will face.

  2. 2. Build the design in chat

Describe the shape and the measurements you know. A simple part usually reaches a reviewable CAD model within a few minutes. Missing dimensions, complex geometry, and revisions can take longer. Ask for a wider opening, a different profile, or a revised mounting point in plain language.

  3. 3. Review the model and fit

Rotate the model, check its dimensions and connections, and review the manufacturing checks. Request corrections before ordering. Plan to test the first physical part in the real assembly: a geometry check cannot confirm its fit, flexibility, or strength.

  4. 4. Download or order a print

Download the available STL or STEP files when your design is ready, or order on-demand production of an eligible PLA or PETG print with every side under 220 mm. Luphra works with Slant 3D for production and US delivery. Review the material, price, and shipping details before paying. Design subscriptions and print orders are billed separately.

An example starting prompt

Help me recreate this missing control knob. I can provide a photo of a matching knob and measurements of the shaft. Start with the outside shape, then confirm the shaft connection before building it.

Adapt these details to your part. This is an example request, not a verified manufacturing result.

More replacement-part starting points

  • Cabinet hinge cover clip

Show the decorative cover and measure its attachment tabs. Keep the working hinge mechanism separate from the replacement.

  • Appliance control knob

Measure the shaft profile, diameter, and insertion depth. Explain the operating temperature and how the knob turns.

  • Desk stand foot cap

Photograph the remaining cap and measure the stand leg, opening, and contact surface. Test stability and material suitability before use.

  • Project-box cover

Measure the opening, screw spacing, and clearance around connectors. Include a sketch of any hidden mounting features.

  • Device mount

Show the device and mounting surface. Measure hole spacing, fastener size, and clearance, and describe the load. Test a prototype before use.

  • Tube connector

Measure both tube profiles and the insertion depth. Describe the required fit and loads, then test the connection in the real assembly.

Questions before you start

How long does a replacement part take?
A simple part usually reaches a first reviewable CAD model within a few minutes. Allow extra time for measurements, design revisions, and manufacturing checks. You can download the available files once the design is ready. Physical orders then go through production and carrier transit, with timing dependent on the accepted order and US destination. Luphra does not publish a fixed end-to-end delivery window. Follow your order status and tracking when available, and contact Luphra before ordering for a deadline.
What does on-demand replacement mean?
You create the replacement design when you need it, using photos, sketches, and measurements instead of relying on a stocked spare. Download the files to arrange production yourself, or approve a quote and order an eligible part through Luphra. Physical production follows your confirmed order. Review the design and test the first part in its real assembly before relying on the replacement.
How is this different from a manufacturing marketplace?
An upload-and-quote marketplace starts with a CAD file you supply. Luphra lets you start before that file exists: describe or show the missing part, refine the design in chat, then download it or review a print quote in the same workflow. You still confirm the material, price, and shipping details before ordering.
Will the replacement fit the original assembly?
Fit is not guaranteed. Supply measurements, inspect the design, and test a prototype. A printability check does not verify compatibility with the original assembly.
Can I recreate a part without the original?
A matching part, a sketch, or measurements of the surrounding assembly can help. Describe any unknown geometry so it can be reviewed rather than treated as a measured fact.
Is this suitable for safety-critical replacements?
Luphra's generated designs do not establish safety or engineering certification. Safety-critical and load-bearing parts need qualified engineering review and validation.
