From photos
Start a part design from a photo or sketch.
Show Luphra the object you want to recreate or change. Attach a reference image, explain its purpose, and develop the design in chat.
Make the shape visible
Use a clear, well-lit photo with the whole part in view. A second angle can explain a hidden face, slot, or opening. A sketch is useful when a photo cannot show the shape you want.
Add measurements that matter
A photo does not establish real-world scale or reveal every surface. Include a known dimension in millimetres and measure connections such as hole spacing, clip openings, or shaft diameters. Call out anything hidden in the image.
Compare the model with the reference
Rotate the generated model and check its profile, openings, and overall dimensions. Ask for corrections in chat. The first model is a design to review, not a verified scan or an exact copy.
Download or request a print
Use the available STL or STEP download for your next design or manufacturing step. If the part is eligible for printing, review the manufacturing quote and shipping details before placing an order.
An example starting prompt
Use this sketch to design a removable cover for my project box. The opening is 80 by 50 mm. Make the cover 3 mm thick. Ask me about the mounting points before adding holes.
Adapt these details to your part. This is an example request, not a verified manufacturing result.
Questions before you start
- Can Luphra infer exact dimensions from a photo?
- No. Perspective and hidden geometry make exact dimensions uncertain. Supply measurements for scale and any surfaces that need to fit another part.
- Can I start with a hand-drawn sketch?
- Yes. Attach an image of the sketch and describe the part. Mark dimensions and explain any features that are unclear.
- What files can I download?
- The model shows its available exports. STL supports mesh-based printing workflows; STEP, when available, supports further work in compatible CAD software.
