Luphra vs Backflip AI, from photo to part.

Luphra accepts photos, sketches, and text as design inputs. Backflip also documents photo-to-CAD. The decision is about the editing and manufacturing workflow you need after the image becomes a model.

Choose by the work you need to do

Choose Luphra for a conversational path from a part reference to a reviewed design, file download, and eligible print order. Consider Backflip when reconstructing CAD for continued work in a native feature tree is the priority, especially in an existing Autodesk Fusion workflow.

01 / Photograph the connection

For a broken cover or knob, include both the part and the surface it mates with. Give a known measurement in millimetres, the connection geometry, and any remaining undamaged dimensions. Identify worn or broken areas so they are not copied as the intended shape.

02 / Check what remains editable

In Luphra, request a revision and inspect the new model. For an external CAD workflow, open the available STEP file and check the change you need to make. If a native feature tree is essential, test that requirement explicitly in the chosen tool; a neutral solid export and a full construction history are different deliverables.

03 / Review before ordering

Check overall dimensions, openings, material, and clearances. Luphra's current automated CAD print path supports PLA and PETG for parts strictly under 220 mm on each axis, subject to geometry, material availability, and a successful quote. Download-only designs can fall outside that print envelope. Review the actual offer before paying.

Try the same brief

These are example requests and review steps, not completed tests or verified manufacturing results.

A photo-based cover brief

Use these photos to recreate a removable cover for a non-critical project box. The measured opening is 80 × 50 mm. Start with a 3 mm cover thickness. I will provide the mounting-hole centres and required clearance. Flag anything you infer from perspective, and let me inspect the dimensions before I order a print.

Check the underside and mounting surfaces. A convincing top view is not a fit test.

Questions before you choose

Does Luphra support photo-to-CAD?
Yes. You can attach photos and sketches, describe the part, add dimensions, and request design changes in chat. Treat inferred geometry as something to review.
Does a generated CAD file mean the part is ready to ship?
No. Review dimensions and manufacturing eligibility, then approve the quote, shipping information, and payment. A geometry pass does not verify a replacement against the original assembly.
Can I download a design without ordering a print?
Yes. Download the formats available for your Luphra model and continue with compatible CAD tools or a manufacturer of your choice. Physical print orders are separate purchases.
